![]() You have arrived at the virtual home of Pima Unified School District. We are located in the historical Town of Pima, Arizona and we serve the communities of Pima, Bryce, and Eden in southeastern Arizona. Our district includes one high school (grades 9-12), one junior high (grades 7-8) and one elementary school (grades K-6) with a district student population of approximately 785 students. We pride ourselves on our personalized instruction, focus on individual needs and learning styles, and our small class sizes. We hope you’ll take some time to browse through our site and find out more about our district and what we have to offer our students, employees, and our community! ![]() Another year has come and gone and we have developed many fond memories. We are truly fortunate to have such high caliber teachers in our little community. They do a wonderful job and sacrifice so much for out students on a daily basis. I would encourage you to take a minute to reflect on how our teaching staff has made a positive impact on your child’s life this year. Yes, everyone makes mistakes, yes eveyone has faults, but they are dedicated professionals that love children. Please take a moment to thank them. The end of the year has brought some wonderful news. Our Junior High Knowledge Bowl Team has performed wonderfully by winning the conference tournament and letter placing in the top three across the state of Arizona. Mrs. Moody is again taking nine FBLA students to nationals this year to compete! Mrs. Tatum and Mr. McBride helped coach the Pima Girl’s Tennis Team to its first ever state title. Conratulations! Spring sports are in their final weeks of the season and we are looking for great results. Our elementary teachers and parents have put together a fantastic finish to the school year by hosting field days and other competitions. I am very pleased with the level of technology that our teachers are using to help their students create Podcasts and slideshows. I am sure that you witnessed the great accomplishments of your sons and daughters in our recent curriculum night. Way to go! We are saddened to announce the retirement of Mrs. Roberta Bishop. Not only has she been a phenomenal teacher, but a mentor and advocate for children as well. She will be missed. I also want to recognize the years of service that Marcela Barnes has contributed to our cafeteria over the years, and to recognize the services of Mr. John Bryant. He will be relocating to Joseph City. We wish him the best. On a more serious note, we are closely watching the pandemic flu and how it may affect our school district. We will notify you if we have any confirmed cases in our district. I am pleased to share that we are currently free of any confirmed cases. To hear a detailed list of precautions please call the Graham County Health Organizations at 428-1962 or visit the CDC Web site.
Sincerely, Joseph C. Farnsworth |
